Zac Berg, OwnerRegistered Psychologist

New Growth Psychology is created and privately run by Zac Berg. Zac is a Registered Psychologist with a wide variety of experience. Zac completed a Master of Arts in Counselling degree from City University of Seattle in 2014. He has been a Registered Psychologist since 2017 and is in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologist’s Association of Alberta. Zac has worked in a variety of therapy settings, including private practice and universities, including MacEwan University and The King's University. At The King’s University, Zac was the department lead and on-campus Psychologist. As well, Zac has been married for over thirteen years, and enjoys gardening and creating music. 

 

His approach to therapy is to meet the person where they are at with compassion, grace, humour and understanding. Life can be difficult with stress, fear of the unknown, unbearable pains and feeling alone. Zac provides a safe place to work through these issues that life throws at us. Using a wide variety of empirically validated therapies and techniques, Zac provides a breadth of options to best meet your needs.

Jessica Elmazi, Counselling Intern

Jessica is a counselling intern pursuing her Master of Counselling degree through City University of Seattle and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with distinction from the University of Calgary. Before transitioning to a career in psychology, Jessica worked as a life coach, where she found great fulfillment in supporting others towards their goals and life pursuits. This blend of academic and professional experiences has ignited her deep passion for guiding individuals toward healing and growth. 

 

With a focus on person-centred therapy, Jessica is dedicated to providing compassionate and holistic support to those she serves. Her kind, patient, and non-judgemental approach creates a safe and nurturing environment where individuals feel empowered to explore their innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace. Jessica believes that every individual is the expert in their own life, holding within them the innate capacity for self-discovery and growth. Jessica's ability to empathize with life’s challenges stems from her own personal healing journey, which has cultivated a deep level of insight, understanding, and compassion.
